your spiritual life that if you were to die today you know 100%
that you would go to heaven? (be honest and examine your life).
Its yes or no, your answer cannot be maybe because that isn’t
knowing for sure.
- - - - - Ok now remember your answer - - - - -
#2. If you were to die today and stand before God and He said
“Ok (your name here) why should I let you into my heaven”?
Be honest with your answer. Now write down your reasons that you
think God should let you in.

Heaven is a free gift. Romans 6:23 tells us that the gift of
God is eternal life.
A gift has to be received meaning that we cannot work for
it.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says for it is by grace you have been saved
through faith and not of yourself, it is the Gift of God not
by works so no one can boast.
Imagine on your birthday after receiving your gifts you went
around the room and tried to repay everyone that gave you a
gift. They would think that your odd or maybe they may be
insulted especially if the gift cost $500.00 and you were
handing a $20.00 bill to everybody. The gift was to be
received, it was given in love.
The bible tells us that heaven must be a free gift because
of the nature of man.
Point #2

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
All Humans are sinners. Romans 3:23 tells us that all have
sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That means you
and me, from Mother Theresa to Osama bin laden. We know that
breaking the 10 commandments are a sin. Remember they are 10
commandments not 10 suggestions. The bible says that a bad
thought is a sin so you can imagine how many times a day we
sin. Let’s say you had a good day and only sinned 3 times
per day. Now that would be pretty good. Well over the course
of a year that would be about a 1000 sins. If you lived to
be 80 that would be 80,000 sins. If you had 80,000 parking
tickets would the judge let you go for the good deeds you
told him that you have done? Of course not.
Well God has a standard. The bible tells us that we are to
be perfect as our Father in Heaven is perfect (Matthew
5:48).
Imagine if you were working in the hot sun and someone came
and offered you a glass of ice cold water but before they
handed it to you, you saw that person put one drop of poison
in the water, Would you drink it?
I’m sure you answered No. Well that one drop of poison is
what one sin in our life is to God. That one sin ruins us
before God.
The bible says that there is a book that records all our
sin. The first page being our birth certificate and the last
being our death certificate and every sin we ever committed
in the middle. Scary Huh!
Now look at your answer again to question #2. Can you see
how that stuff is not going to have any favor with god
because of your sin.
Point #3

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The bible tells us, God is Love (1 John 4:8) but also tells
us that God is perfect and just and must punish sin (Exodus
34:7). The bible tells us that after we committed one sin we
our guilty of all the law (James 2:10). We like to belittle
our sins when we compare them to rape and murder but the
bible describes sin as sin. God is Holy and righteous and
punished all sin.
If times were rough for you financially and you decided to
rob a bank. You have never done anything like this before;
you had a clean record up until this time. Your family was
hungry and your about to be evicted from your home. So you
hold the bank up with a squirt gun that looks real so no one
gets hurt. Well the bank teller hits the silent alarm and
you’re arrested on the sidewalk. Now you’re before the judge
and you plead your case. You tell the judge you have never
done anything like this before and that you had a clean
record up until this point. No one was hurt and the bank got
their money back. Can you please let me slide on this one?
If the judge is just and upholds the law should he let you
go? Of course not, right.
Now imagine the same thing happened to you but you lived in
a small town of 500 people and the judge was your own dad.
You tell your dad the same thing. “Come on dad you know me.
I have never done anything this radical. The bank got their
money back and no one was hurt.” Now if your dad was a just
judge and had to uphold the law would he let you go? Well he
can’t if he is just. Our Father in heaven has to punish our
sin just the same. Sin separates us from Gods presence.
God gave us a way out of this problem; Remember I said God
is love……

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
God gave us a way out of this problem through the person of
Jesus Christ.
The bible tells us that Jesus is 100% God ( John 1:1-4 and
John 1:14 to name one verse there are many). Remember why
the Jews crucified him. They crucified him for blasphemy
which means he was claiming to be God.
The bible also tells us that Jesus is 100% man. He
experienced everything we experience as far as pain and
emotions and yet remained sinless because he is God.
Jesus is the Son of God but also God the Son
Jesus paid for our sin buy being crucified on a cross. He
presented his body on the cross to be the sacrifice for our
sins. The reason he is the perfect sacrifice is because he
is perfectly without sin and his blood washes our sin away.
(John 3:16). He took the beating so that we could be saved
from the wrath to come, HELL. Just before he died on the
cross he yelled out the words Tetelisti which means it is
finished. Tetelisti was a merchant term that was used at the
docks that meant paid in full. He took your book of sin that
I told you about earlier and stamped paid in full on every
sin. He paid for all your sins past present and future. The
bible says that he washed us white as snow with his blood
and put our sins as far as the east is from the west. This
is the gift that he has given us. But this gift has to be
received by saving faith.
Point #5
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
To accept the Gift we need to have saving faith in Jesus
Christ in what he did for us.
Saving faith is not just an intellectual belief that He died
on the Cross for us.
I believe and I'm sure you believe that George Washington was
the first president of the USA, but are you trusting in
George Washington for anything today? Of course not. He is
dead. He can no longer do anything for you. Jesus Christ is
alive.
Saving faith is not a temporal faith. Example: lets say you
are on a plane and you hit some serious turbulence and you
start praying Jesus save me and then you land and forget
about him and go party it up. That is not saving faith.
Saving faith is relying on what Jesus did on the cross alone
and nothing else for your eternal salvation.
Jesus wants you to get out of the driver seat and let him be
in the driver seat. You see Jesus will never force his way
in. He says draw close to me and I will draw close to you.
Let’s imagine that you are on a white water rafting trip and
you fall out of the raft and the water is getting rough and
there is a waterfall coming up. You start to panic and grab
on to a log and you’re holding on for dear life. Then a Man
comes to the shore and throws you a life line. Well that log
represents any good works that you think may get you into
heaven. Maybe it’s a perfect church attendance or feeding
the poor or being a loving father or mother. The Man on the
shore represents Jesus Christ and he wants you to let go of
that log with both hands and grab onto that life line with
both hands that he is throwing you and rely on nothing else
to get you into heaven except for what he did for you.
Remember if there was any other way for us to make it Jesus
would not have had to die on the cross. The night before the
Romans arrested Jesus for his claims of being divine he
prayed to The Father in heaven “ if there is any other way
that they might be saved take this cup from me.” Jesus had
to go to the cross. The bible tells us that he was sweating
blood. And he did it for you.
So would you like to accept this free gift that Jesus
purchased for you? It is by no means cheap! It cost God
everything, and he lovingly paid the price just for you.
Remember to not make a choice for Jesus is to make a choice
to go against him (John 8:24). That leads to a road of
destruction that you choose to take (Mathew 7:13-14). If you
reject Jesus, Why? What do you believe and why. What
evidence do you have to support your ideas. You better be
sure because its not just 6ft under for you, its everlasting
life in Hell. Your choice.
Remember that Jesus said that he is not willing that any
should perish. He wants us all to accept his free gift. But
many will reject because they love darkness. You have
nothing to loose to accept Jesus Christ as your personal
Lord and Savior but you have everything to gain.
